NO Audio is a curated “microzine” designed for people who need to consume culture while on the go. Every edition is comprised of curated content selected by our growing team of guest curators with the purpose of empowering the voice of emerging artists contextualized around social issues and current events.
We believe music and art are inherently political– the choice to live a creative life and operate outside of our supply and demand modalities is nothing less than a political one. While living a creative life is often a labor of love, our voices are often strong and influential. NO Audio is a microzine project that convenes artists and musicians to celebrate what they stand for and denounce what they won’t.
By saying “NO” to something, we’re emphatically drawing attention to the issues, surfacing the dialogue, and perhaps influencing our future. These could be issues of federal policy or regulation regarding everything from big agriculture to education. Or maybe it’s local issues dealing with environmental infractions or civil freedoms. Or maybe it’s more philosophical about ways we ought not to be.
ARt and music are powerful.
